Advice

Fruit is poisonous when green but edible when orange and soft. Quick growing, short lived plant that responds well to pruning and is useful for a quick result in gardens. A pioneer plant after fires in the wild. Blue/purple flowers 3-5 cm wide with brilliant yellow stamen, plant requires full sun to semi-shade. The common name Kangaroo Apple derives from the supposed similarity of large, multi-lobed leaves to paw prints of kangaroos.
