Description

Previously known as Selliera radicans, this low-growing succulent creeper occurs in moist to wet freshwater or saline soils such as around the Gippsland Lakes, in a swamp near Cranbourne, and along the coast near Sandringham. The white flowers, 1cm wide, are fan-shaped. It needs some sun to flower, but will still grow in full shade.

Advice

Planting

Plant in the ground or in a pond. In a pond up to 50cm deep, it's easiest to leave the plant in the pot, with the top of the pot level with the waters surface. The pot can then be lifted out each month and any growth outside the pot can be trimmed off.

Maintenance

If planted in the ground, the plant may die down over Summer unless kept moist. If this happens then it will reappear after the start of the Autumn rains.
